Locally Significant Heritage Neighbourhood Areas
During the latter part of 2018 and early 2019, the Planning Division, with the Municipal Heritage Committee, held a series of drop-in public information meetings. The main purpose of these meetings was to provide information about proposed heritage protection policies that would be applied to five neighbourhoods, and to receive feedback from the public. An evaluation criteria was used to help identify the neighbourhoods that would be selected for this proposed policy.
The objectives of these information sessions were two-fold:
1. Locally significant heritage areas: to define and protect heritage areas.
2. Story-telling initiative: to encourage individuals to share community and personal stories about their neighbourhood.

Draft protection policies that are proposed to preserve heritage value.
