Welcome to Shape the Sault!

"Shape the Sault" refers to the Planning Division's process of creating a new Official Plan. 

An Official Plan is a legal document approved by Council that contains the community’s vision and goals for the city. The Plan serves as a guide for the current and future growth of our built environment.  

Community consultation is the building block. We need to engage and involve the community as its vision is central to the review of the Official Plan.  Together we can make the city of Sault Ste. Marie an even greater place to live, learn, work, play, and invest.
